Justin Sandler is a director, musician, actor, and storyteller whose work spans film, television, music, and the stage. A graduate of Indiana University, his career began in broadcast media, directing and producing television in Chicago before transitioning to commercial production for ABC and FOX in Palm Springs. He later moved to Los Angeles, where he established himself as a working actor in film, television, and national commercials—all while touring and recording as a professional drummer.

Together with his wife and creative partner, Mary Lou Sandler, Justin co-founded 3 cubed studios, LLC, where he leads operations and brings decades of experience in directing, producing, and editing to each project. Their studio is a creative hub for photography, film, music, and solo theatre—rooted in storytelling that uplifts and connects. Their shared home is also filled with love, including eight rescue cats and one pup.

Justin’s award-winning short film Welcome to Where You’ve Always Been, which he wrote, directed, starred in, edited, and produced, screened at 22 festivals and won five awards, including Best Actor in a Leading Role. The film is now available on ShortsTV and Amazon. Alongside Mary Lou, he is currently co-directing two feature-length documentaries: Caregiving Cancer: The Silent Heroes and MANtimacy, an exploration of emotional vulnerability and evolving masculinity.

In 2019, Justin debuted his one-man show Embrace Love Free at the Whitefire Theatre SoloFest, with subsequent performances at the Santa Monica Binge Fringe Festival and Whitefire SoloFest 2021. His story of healing, transformation, and radical love emerged from his experience with a rare and aggressive cancer that nearly claimed his life in 2017. Since then, he has shared his journey as a keynote speaker, including two TEDx talks.

Justin recently completed his memoir, Embrace Love Free… Cancer & Me, inspired by his life, cancer journey, and philosophy. He will be publishing the book soon.
